Here are some tips on the different ways you can tie your Sarong. A Kikoy is a special kind of Sarong, and can be worn in the traditional Sarong style, but also in many other ways.

We’ve provided instructions for you here, including some photo guides as well as an Illustrated Guide to Tying a Sarong that you can download and print (see end of this page).

Summertime Pashmina

  • Drape the Kikoy over your shoulder with one end shorter.

  • Hold Kikoy behind you high under your arms.
  • Grasp one end of the Kikoy and with the other hand grasp the other end with 20 – 30 centimeters hanging free.
  • Tie each end together firmly with a double knot across the top of your chest, again leaving the 20 to 30cm to hang free.
  • Now grasp the free end and tuck under the kikoy.
  • Pull the free end across your chest and under your arm.
  • Smooth the kikoy so that it hangs neatly.
  • To secure, pull out a little of the free end and hang it over the top of the Kikoy.
